Ok, so last year when I bought my 95 xj I had to bypass the nuetral safety switch by adding a single pole switch to the wiring from the nss, when the switch is on, the jeep thinks it is in park, when it is off, it thinks it is in drive, this way I can start it, and then still use the cruise control, this has worked fine for over a year, now it will not start no matter what position the switch is in, checked my wires, fine, checked the switch and that is fine too, HELP!!!!!!!

 

you mean wont turn over or wont run

 

I'm not quite following this..To bypass the NSS usually you just loop the black wires and don't even go thru it anymore. Where exactly is this switch located? And as "freegdr" asked..How do you mean it won't start?..Like nothing happens at all or it cranks but won't turn over.

 

Sorry guys, it will not turn over, got power, fuel pump is working, just no starter kicking in....the switch is one I installed on the dash by looping the wires from the NSS through the switch so I can get by, I have tried to remove the NSS and have had NO LUCK, unemployed right now, and currently disabled (wrecked my motorcycle 6 weeks ago, post concussive syndrome, and a seperated right shoulder) so I need to get this thing going CHEAP!!!! gonna try to jump the starter and see if that is still working, and go from there..

 

It was a bad starter.......all better.....
