Default Help Troubleshooting

Hi friends,

Ok I need some help figuring out why my Jeep keeps stalling out. Here is whats going on.

Awile back as I was leaving work my car wouldn't start, this is after I had the car only a few weeks. So I jumped the car and it started. I went out and Got a battery and everything was fine for about a month. The car wasn't starting again so I checked the alternator and it was pushing good numbers.

So I drove the car about another month and it stalled again I tryed jumping it and it wouldn't start. I am starting to think it is the gear positioning sensor. It stalled after about 12-15 miles of driving. I gave it to the shop and they didn't know what was wrong with it. They would just let the car run and it would never stall.

So I took the car back and it stalled out when I was driving it yesterday. does anyone have any idea's?

Its a 96 Cherokee

Check Fuel/Spark Components. Check Crankshaft Positioning Sensor.

Just tuned it up the other day. I think it is the Crankshaft Positioning Sensor.

I thought the same thing on my 88... I bought the CPS and shrugged when I found out where it is located.... anyway unplugged it and checked the plug and replugged it back in and have not had an issue in 2 years now. Returned the CPS part too...

Might be a bad connection...
