Default help with tcase drop install

So i get everything ready to put the tcase drop on and realize that on the tcase the bolts holding it on, one bolt is pointing up like i screw it out by the head, the nut for it is in the unibody which that part is good with me. now the other bolt is facing down and the nut is what comes off, and the bolt is inside the unibody, Do other jeeps have that? i thought just the nuts were inside the body and not the actual bolts, what do i do?

i cut mine off and drilled and tapped one beside it. but i don't recommend doing that. i think every auto parts store has a stud remover loaner tool that you can use to get it out.

you could try double nutting the stud to get it out

I just finished my lift two days ago and i used a bolt out set from craftsman. super easy. if you don't want to buy the set then go to your local parts store and rent one. do not just keep hitting it with a hammer.

I think everyone is understanding what you have. That is a stud. Each side has 1 bolt and one stud. There is still a nut welded in the unibody just like there is for the bolt. Here is how you get it out, get a propane torch and heat the stud and the area holding the nut in the unibody, turn it with a small pipe wrench.
If it will not turn then it is not hot enough, keep heating.

i had the same problem. i double nutted the stud, took out the stud. instead of retaping and drilling i got some new bolts that had the same threads except i got them an inch longer(for the drop) then i just used the old nut thats up in the frame for my new bolts
