Default HELP starting problems!

Hello, I have a 98 4.0 XJ, for the past couple days it hasn't been starting right up, sometimes it will take a few turns but sometimes not, my battery light has been coming on randomly but turning off, when I turn the key all lights and dash lights turn on but the motor won't turn, when the motor decides to turn on it will give very low power until I give it gas and it will be fine but sometimes it will not even start at all nothing, I need help to figure out this problem cause I'm low on cash right now and can't afford to take it to a shop for them to tell me! HELP

Take the battery in to any parts store and have it load tested. If it check out ok. Clean all of the grounding points not just the battery but all of them. A bad connection at any of the grounding points can give you a lot of the same symptoms as a bad battery.

Take your wires off the post, clean the inside of the terminals and the battery posts put some dielectric grease on them and retighten everything. Just sounds like you have a bad connection.
