help with rear fender trimming.
I didn't read the whole thread but here's some pics of mine. As you can see I did a little more than cut and fold in the rear. I've done all my cutting with either a 4.5" grinder with cutoff wheel or a sawzall. The front was a grinder then I used a flap disc to smooth it out and hit it with some 180 grit sandpaper and the end. It's as smooth as a baby's bottom. The rear I used both the grinder and sawzall then flap disc. the parts I cut will be under sheet metal so they didn't need to be as smooth as the front.
That's with about 2" of lift and 35's. The rear will easily clear 36's or even 37's. The front's a little different; still need to figure out what to do with the rear of the front wheel wells - aka the vertical portion of the floor boards.

If you look at the first pic in post # 47 above you'll the fender is cut far enough back but right inside the fender (where the pinch seam is) you'll see the floor board is in the way. I've hammered the pinch seam down but it's not enough for 35's on 2" of lift. I've got an idea and if I pull the trigger I'll post some pics...
1/8" will be fine but thinner is definitely better IMHO. I usually end up with the DeWalt .045" blades from Lowes. Clicky...

Why dont you guys like the fender flare look? Or is it just easier to cut the fender? i personally think it looks better with flares.. not to mention its illegal to have tires past your fenders without fender flares...
I actually like the way those flares look and would use them on a daily driver/light wheeler but I'll be better served with no flares.
