Help re Bumper Spotlights
Hi guys. I have a 1992 XJ here in the UK. Real good condition etc and a recent purchase. The front bumper has 2 holes ready to take spots. I have spoken to previous owner, as I cannot find the wires hanging down which I hoped for to connect the spots. He said when he fitted the winch, he tucked them up somewhere. Well I have found what I thought was the ones, as the colour code matched the O.E. switch which is yellow & grey, and the switch illuminates when pushed, but cannot get a trace of live with a circuit tester on the ones below. Not sure if there is a fuse somewhere?
I am looking at replacing all with a spotlight fitting kit our local store does. Unless that is if you guys have any input on this. ? Sorry to bother on a trivial request by the way. Regards Les

Well they could be behind your driver's side, since it is RHD.
In any case, for safety's sake I would run new heavier wiring with a relay to the new driving lights. The factory fog light wiring may not carry the load properly or safely in your situation.

Yeah is a Ramsey winch. Totally wasted on me LOL It was already on the car
when I bought it. Apparently been refurbished and full working order.
I did try it as in see if cable came out and back and was fine. The weird thing
for me is, this is my 4th XJ and they all ran hot. This came from Saudia Arabia
in 1992, and has had a different Radiator and cooling fan fitted (Docs all in the history) and runs so cool is unreal. Temp gauge just over 60 approx on the dial even in standing traffic. The owners have kept every single receipt, and MOT (Yearly road test UK law) from new. once I get the spots fitted will be great then maybe can see at night LOL
