Hahah, yeah the whole thing was soaked. Leaking cylinder. Fixed all that yesterday so no more issues. Heres an overall right after I pulled the drum and springs off. Yipes.

Thank you all for your help. I will try to tear them down again this weekend and try putting the curve up and see if that does it. I will also check to see if the spring bottoms out!

I did turn the adjuster so the curve was up, and I did verify the spring was not fully compressed. Put it all back together and adjusted the brakes, then adjusted the e brake cable like the book says and when I pull the e brake handle REAL tight, it still rolls backwards down the ramp...@#$#@!

Well when I had brake issues I figured I needed new shoes. The ones on there had strange wear and the drum had a deep groove so I replaced both the shoes and the drum. Yeah I replaced both wheel cylinders....as well as the front calipers. All that in order to bleed the system. Those bleeder fittings sure do snap off easy when they get stuck.

Actually picked up a "trick" while working on a quad. Don't know if it was factory or not, but the bleeders were packed with grease. certainly would help to keep the inside from rusting. Grease just shot out when I cracked them. Heck, might try antiseize on the screw (new or recently loosened)

Well that was my problem....I sheared it off. I'm sure it would have bled just fine if it did loosen haha. Nice trick though.

That's frustrating.
It is a mechanical system so the issue should be visible somewhere.
Did you operate e-brake without drums on, to verify they both expand?
The only other thing I can think of, is the rod that connects to e-brake handle and penetrates floor, could be restricting movement somehow.
