Help..noise when backing
When I back up and turn my wheel to the right I get an odd noise like a metal clicking/pounding...the noise varies. Also I cannot pin point where it's coming from. Any ideas on this?? It never does it consistently.

I have some what the same problem, I'm trying to analyze as well. When I turn the steering wheel all the way right or left I hear a repeating thud sound... Sounds like the all wheel drive is not slipping like it should in turns.

how close are your tires to rubbing at turns? mine didn't touch in turns goin forward, but in reverse it would sometimes catch. and if you turned the wheel and checked they seemed to not touch, but when goin in reverse your axle shifts some. may not be your problem, but mine made a noise similar to that hitting metal.
And if you have wheels with any offset they will rub at other times than full lock. like mine rubbed at like half/ 3/4 turn and never at full lock. just something to keep in mind

The problem I having is in the drive train maybe in the trans-fur case? It's like on a tight turn the inside wheels want to turn at the same rate as the outside wheels. Thud... Thud....... Thud

Just got it again...worst ever..sounded as if it came from the rear right rear...almost like someone pounding on metal as I was backing. Only has done it in backing.
