Help a newb
I recently purchased a 1998 Cherokee with a 4.0 for my son. It had been sitting and was not running. We fogged the motor, changed all fluids, and dropped and cleaned the fuel tank. We put a new battery in and tried to start it today and there are some problems. We could not get it to start, but found these problems.
1. The green wire that connects to the front of the PDC was broken. From what I could find out this is a fusible link. My question is can I just solder another piece of wire, the same gauge, to make the connection?
2. We came across some electrical issues. No turn signals, blower motor, gauges, horn, but electric windows, radio, wipers, brake lights, and head lights work. Can someone point me in a direction to start troubleshooting?
Thanks for all the help.

No, you need to replace the entire fusible link.
Start checking fuses and relays for your electrical issues. Might be as simple as swapping in a good fuse to get everything working.
A bad fusible link isn't a good sign though.

Breakers are $5, make a jumper and see if you have power.
I will eventually replace my link with a breaker when I replace my engine.
Links break with age, become brittle........not necessarily a sign of failure.
