I wonder if he used synthetic b/c that's what the new engine paperwork suggested (??).
At this point I would probably keep using synthetic. Synthetic oil, depending on what he used is a better lubricant anyway, so it probably has the same effect as higher zinc. But now that you uttered the words "Motor Oil" yer going to get two dozen different opinions by the self-anointed "Internet Oil Experts". Soon this thread will resort to guys correcting each other, then spiral into name calling ...just like most oil threads do on automotive forums. Ha ha...

Don't sweat it, as long as you are using a good oil and change it at maybe 1000 miles, I would not worry about it. If you wanted to add a break in additive for the mileage until you do the next oil change, go ahead.

its a 3 -4 drips every time i shut off the engine. and it has a brand new rubber piece. When tightening the bolt it gets snug and then if you do one more 1/4 turn once it's snug it'll become loose again. my fear is that road vibs will rotate it slowly to become un-snug and then the plug may fall out... i worry alot. but i have terrible luck with cars lol

It is good to use on the oil sender too, if the sender does not already have a sealer on the threads.

No, that one is compatible with oil. However, don't glob it on past the threads. Just put it on the threads and when you screw it in, it will be wiped OUT and visible on the outside of the pan.
