Default help with a new purchase

So a good friend of mine is buying something for my xj for helping her move. At first i was thinking about getting the spectre cold air intake kit just like the k&n one. But after doing a bunch of searches on here i found out that they are a huge waste of good money. I have decided to get a new muffler instead. I was thinking the flowmaster 40 or 44 series. Does anyone have any input or suggestions on other ones that are equally good that may not cost as much

I agree but respectfully disagree with your post xjmuddigger, Flowmaster 40's sound like absolute crap on a Cherokee if the cat is still on, it just has a low flat humming sound. Without the cat on the other hand I agree it sounds fantastic, as does the Thrush Turbo muffler.

Tell them to give you $50 for gas. It will be more useful than any of the other mods.

thrush turbo gives u more More flow than stock If you want something better than your slowflowing OEM muffler thrush Turbos Backpressure is decreased 30 percent over stock with a deep performance tone under acceleration

and Thrush welded mufflers are 100% aluminized and fully welded for longlasting performance. The two chamber design produces a deep muscle-cartone. All mufflers have a 9.5" x 4.0" x 13.0" body and are 19" long overall.
