Default Help a new guy decide

I'm in the market to get a Cherokee and have looked around a little bit. I have come across this one , see link. I need to know if the price is too high. I looked at it today and it looks in perfect condition. I was actually surprised how nice it was. the interior is in mint condition and the outside is just as nice. looked for signs of a cracked head and saw nothing. help a new guy out on his first jeep whether this is a decent deal or not. Thanks

Its a clean XJ. But that price is WAY to high, atleast for my area. Would think you could get one just as clean for half that price.

10K with 108K stock? *cough* Damn!! I wouldn't even consider it unless you can get him down at least 3,000. Even KBB lists a mint 01 with all options checked for 8,000. 6-6500 tops any more start walking. Picked up my 97 for 3000 140K on the clock brand new 31" and 4 inch lift

I have a 99 its pretty much the same as that one except blue and doesn't have power windows/locks... but I got mine for 5,000 and it had maybe 20,000 more miles than that one, everything is mint and it has no problems, if I was you I wouldn't pay over 7,000 and thats pushing it

bought my 2001 back in feb with 220k on it from a guy in michigan for 2750, runs smooth and looks pretty good for 10 years old of course it does have little things on the outside, kbb.com lists mine for 4500, that one is too high priced

Thanks for the help. I wish I could get one from a private seller but the problem is i have a 08 dakota sport that i can't sell. i'm using it as a trade in so i can get rid of it so i'm kind of stuck with dealers. guess i'll walk away from this one because the guy wasn't going to budge on the price. he said last one they had was an 01 with 70,000 and was just as nice as this one and sold it for 13,000.

Wow nice looking xj and wow! big price!
I looked at the pics from the link and it looks like it has Command-Trac transfer case so you would only be able to use 4X4 off road. If you want to be able to use 4 wheel drive on road look for an xj with Selec-Trac. Part time = off road only. Full time = Anywhere, anytime.
This is Selec-Trac:

Just be patient. You can get a better deal than that! I'd be real surprised if that dealer sells that JEEP for the price he's asking. Wait a month or two and call him back...keep looking on Craigslist and Ebay.

Heck, if you lived a little further north, I might be willing to sell or trade my '00 Cherokee.

Yea Id definately let that one go. Keep looking man, it may take a month or 2 of searching but eventually one will pop up at a real good price. If you look on Craigslist dont just look in the area that you are in, look all around the state. If you have totravel a little ways to get one then I would most definately do it.
