You gotta give some more info then that...

Like did this happen all of a sudden or lead up to this?

What have you tried so far?

What are the CEL codes?

Hi.

Sorry .. The jeep died suddenly. Then starting was hit and miss. So replaced the fuel head and fuel rail. Cps and cam sensor had injectors tested all good. Today would tic over fine and when applied revs just die. I do have a video of the engine on tic over but don't know how to upload to he. I moved the wire the wire to the fuel pressure valve and it won't tick over now. It has a code of p051. But makes now sense has to why.

Hope this helps. Many thanks.

By 'tic over', do you mean start up?
Yes, 215 on the CTS is high for JUST ticing over a cold engine, before it has any chance to come to temp. In fact you have the same temp on the CTS and IAT. That is odd indeed.

Hi.

Yes revs without applying the gas.
The ect and iaf are reading that even if the engine is not been run for days. Possible faulty pcm or wiring loom !!! But would that cause engine stop when appling revs to 3500rpm when stationery. . Thanks

Oh I just realized this is a diesel. I have never seen one of those engines.

Somethings not right with the IAT and ECT, but I have had scanners not be able to read everything properly either. If the vehicle thinks its that hot when its cold it will not provide the right fuel mix. But again on a diesel I wouldnt think it would make it not run.

Does the TPS read all the way to 100% lineally when you slowly push the accelerator, no jumping around? If the ecu doesn't know the pedal is being pushed it wont provide more gas.

Tested the maf sensor, if there is one IDK?

Wait so it only cuts off at 3500 rpm? Sounds like rev limit or fail safe fuel cut. does it run and drive below that?

Morning.

Yes it is fine until the 3500rpm. The tps is reading 100% when applying gas.

I will try and upload a video of the jeep running. Has she sounds fine to me. If the hpfp failed would this case this kind of behaviour!

The theory of the fuel cut out sounds like it needs investigation. Has I never even thought of that. I will look at that toda .

Everything seems to be normal bo jumping or anything ..

Thank you for the advice

This is a strange one. I have no signal pulse to fpv or to number 4 injector. No 2 injector is only 2v when ignition on. Any ideas. Thanks

Hi Mark, if your Cherokee is actually a 2002 then you must be outside the USA. Does your Cherokee look like this?

If so, we call that a Liberty and it is quite different from the Cherokee we know on this forum. You might have better results posting in a Jeep Liberty forum.

Hi nick.

Yes mine is a jeep 2.5crd cherokee not liberty. I am in the UK. I was under the impression from jeep uk that the liberty and cherokee are the same model uk cherokee US liberty.

Is that not the case. !!! Thanks

The US did not get a diesel version like yours and 2001 was the last year made for the US market. 2002 changed to Liberty, which as you know was called Cherokee in other countries.
As to your issues, there are a few UK/European members here so someone may eventually have a suggestion. Best of luck.

Thank you. I will keep trying. I really don't want to go down there road of a full engine swop. she sounds fine when running. I will try and upload a video showing. Thanks
