HELP!!! I'm locked out of my Jeep!
Thanks!!
Scott
I just did this it took about 2 min.
Get a wire hanger. Straigten it ou except for the hook end. Bend the oppisite the hook side at a paralell angle to the hook so you can know the plane of the hook. Slide it in your window whether strip nearest the handle. Make sure the open end go the hook is towards the handle. Now just graduate towards the handle and pull up and down periodically pushing the handle button in. You will eventually get it open. It took me a min but bee persistent..... And stay calm.. Best of!!!!

This is if you have electric locks:
If you have one available, a wedge to open the door a little, then put a blood pressure cuff, or some other strong inflatable bag in, then inflate it to push the door apart, then use the coathanger method. Pop the lock to unlock the doors. ***DO NOT OPEN DOOR YET*** If you open the door now the torque on the glass could shatter it. Remove the coathanger, wedge and deflate and remove the air bladder, then open the door.
I locked myself out of my 2001 a lot in college, and rather than bothering campus safety each time, I just invested in the materials and kept them in my campus apt.

Not in my pocket, had it in the spare emergency kit in my apartment on campus, as I tended to lock myself out only there...dont ask how, but I would have a roommate let me in and unlock it. Finally started carrying a spare in the wallet tho.
Word of advice, after enough time, the key in my wallet and sliding in and out of the seat in khakis for work and such, the pocket on my pants got worn...dont leave the plastic on the key...to much bulge in the pocket.

I know this is a dead thread but I just went through this last night when I locked my keys in my jeep I didn't wanna mess with it in the cold and dark so I broke into my house instead and came on here. I started getting a little intimidated when I saw all the posts about how it's easier to break a window, remove the back hatch window, or wedge the top of the door and pull the latch with a coat hanger and I did not want to attempt any of those I've seen buddies mess up their seals and even bend the door a little trying to wedge and I'm not really a fan of sitting in shattered glass for the next month since the windows break into a billion pieces and after looking it up I do not understand how removing the hatch glass could ever be recommended to get in because from what I've seen it's glued in and would be way more hassle than its worth but I'm here to tell you there's a much much simpler way to do this even if you have manual locks and widows like I do. I only saw a couple posts on this way but it had me in within 6-7 minutes. First you have to pull up on the bottom seal on the window mine came up very easily and this will give you a good sized gap to work with between the window and door. Next straighten out a coat hanger leaving the hook on the end if you don't have a coat hanger or any other sturdy wire your antenna with a hook bent at the end could be substituted also another reason I see this way as the easiest way because you need nothing that you don't have access too and an antenna will always be cheaper and easier to replace than a window. Now the slightly tricky part I started out trying to hook a connector rod to the left of the white window roller closest to the handle like I had seen one post suggest(don't worry sounds confusing but if your ever in this situation you will see what I'm talking about) I tried with that for about 3 minutes with no success and since I'm not the patient type I moved on and tried putting the hook down by where the key hole was with the hook pointing towards the back of the vehicle and about my third pull I felt a little resistance and heard the door unlock after that you just remove the hook gently push the window seal back on and your in buisness. This was easily the quickest I have gotten into a vehicle even quicker than removing the 4 screws that held the plywood window on my bronco so don't be discouraged and throw a rock through your window if you lock your keys in. With a flash light you could probably even shine down and see the linkage to grab I hope this helps someone in the future I know I would have liked to have known this from the beginning

no, smash the drivers window. much cheaper and easier to replace.
but as said, you can get into it very easily with simple tools.
removing the window wipe to gain enough access is the best way. our doors don't wedge to easily as they're thick and recessed in unlike the newer doors that don't have a drip edge.
cherokee's are the worst for us tow drivers to open up as our locks get very stiff and there's nothing to grab with the long bar. that's why it's easier to loop the handle if you can manage.
power locks just make it so much easier to break in.
