Help to ID cable

Help to ID cable
1989 Renix XJ. Engine is stock 4.0. AW4 with 231 transfer case. All those items are stock. Was performing Cruiser54 tips 1-5 and discovered this unplugged in the bundle above the oil filter moving back to the firewall. Tried tracing it with no luck.
Single wire connector that is black. Any ideas what it goes to?

Connector for an underhood light I think. I had one that looked like that as well. As I recall it went forward in the wiring harness and spliced into power somewhere around the coil wiring. I removed it when I was adding the ground at the blower motor.
