Well, when I was putting the new cap on, I went a little too tight on one screw and then I felt it spin "freely" and I knew I stripped the threads... Is there any way to get it tight? I hear a bolt with a nut on the bottom works? Or maybe a little bit bigger screw? Thanks
Both of those are valid... tap it to slightly larger or even use a self tapping screw.
The screw can't be too big because those little plastic tabs are pretty small.
A small nut/bolt combo would probably work better but can be a PITA to get tight.

Old school trick small pc paper wrapped around screw ,you don't gotta tighten the crap out of them just snug them down there Hercules...lol...
Had the same thing happen on 1994 Nissan Sentra I used to own. I ended up using one of the threaded inserts from the screw holes in the old cap to fix the stripped threads in the distributor. Just drilled out the hole slightly and was able to press in the insert using a c-clamp (or something like that...it was about 10 years ago).

I wound up finding some bigger self tappers. They won't screw down all the way and I don't want to force them, by the threads they "tapped" are holding it just fine, maybe the screw gets wider towards the top, idk, but it works so I'm not gonna question it...
