Help,i replaced oil pan now theres a grinding noise???
I replaced my oil pan and gasket this weekend and when I went to start it I heard a grinding noise.I thought it was the starter since I removed it to have more room.I took the started off and wiggled it a few times and the tightened it back up and it's still doing th same thing. What do you guys think? Is is possbile the flywheel is hitting the pan now?

Pull the smaller inspection plate back off (lower half in front of bellhousing)and see if you still have the sound. You may have it seated improperly. I'v done this too..

Yes, where the tranny bolts to the block on the bottom there is a small sheetmetal cover that can be removed ( 4 bolts I believe) make sure it is installed correctly and thatit isn't making contact with the ring gear or flexplate

I will take the inspection plate off and check.Could it be because we didn't tighten the bolts on the pan the right way.We didn't start in the middle and zig zag back and forth. We just tightend them any way.
