hey guys... new to this forum... didn't know where else to go. was jump starting my 92 cherokee in a rush. (someone was coming to look at it to buy.) got the cables on and went to start it. when i realized i put the battery cables on the wrong terminals like a dummy!!!!

needless to say it wont start now... checked all my fuses and relays... all seems to be good... what else could it be?!?! a small box with wires on the drivers side under the hood was smoking pretty bad... something in there could be fried??? i get no spark at distributor (only place i checked) how much of a headache is on my hands??

Bad bad news, that box on the drivers side fender is your computer and hooking up the jumper cables backwards has more than likely fried it. Time for a trip to the junkyard.

had a feeling it was the computer... RATS!!! lol ... its almost as far forward as can be under the hood... right near the driver headlight... whole mess of wires comin into it, might even be a plug... i didn't investigate that far yet... thats what i get to try when i get out of work today... any other things that could be keeping me from getting started??
