Help! Hose hanging under Jeep (pic)
Hey Guys,
I noticed at work today that a hose was hanging under my jeep. it appears to be insulated and it looks like it may plug into the front axle. I have no idea what this is for and if it is a "must fix asap" type of deal. What's weird is that the hose is shredded on the side (like a shark bit into it lol).
Any ideas what this is and how much it cost?
Please help

Vacuum line? Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't some D 30's have a vacuum engagement system? If so, you probably would want to get it fixed, unless you don't want/need four wheel drive.

I cant see the pic, but its one of 2 things. Either its the breather hose which should have a plastic check valve on the end hanging (other ending going to the diff). or If the axle it vac disconect the hose will be coming fron the passenger side of the axle where your upper control arm mounts. What are you looking at????
Hmm... I have a novel idea...
How about this..
You crawl under the jeep, and find what it leads to.
Maybe?
Could be alot of things, looks almost like the cruise cable to me...

Do you have a Check Engine Light on?
It has heat wrap on it so I would imagine it ran rather close to the exhaust, perhaps oil pressure or water temp sensor plug? Perhaps even O2 Sensor but if no Check Engine light I would be inclined to believe it is not the O2 Sensor.
It is chewed up from probably rubbing against the driveshaft while you drive.

It's got that heat foil wrapped around it, it was probably torn apart when it came out and was rubbing against your drive shaft, as someone else above had even stated
Secondly, since you've still got the LP D30, your diff vent hole is on top and I don't see another vent hose comin from the top of it. If you've never rerouted it, then the hose comes down from just above the drivers side upper control arm

Thanks all! It does have a plastic tip that appears to perfectly fit into the front differential. I can't really see where it goes up to due to the awkward position of it and because it's very dark out...If it's a breather hose for front differential, what happens with it being torn up? Do I need to fix asp?
Thanks again!
