HELP.... got a tick
so stoopid me went through a massive mud pit and couldnt get out. got on it a little hard and it stalled and wouldnt start for a few mins. it started back up and i limped it home feelin like it was on 5 cyl, also had engine and oil light..........
im assuming it injested some water/ mud combo. i replaced the air filter and spark plugs, cleaned the cap n rotor, changed the oil and filter. (the oil looked more like the color of gear oil, and it only has been drivin maybe 200 miles on that oil) it drives half way decent besides the extra tick that was never there before.
anyways, the engine light is off, but the oil light goes on and off constantly whether driving or idling.
i feel as though the oil is not lubricating the head properly..!?
also i hear about the galley behind the pres sensor becoming clogged often, when cranked over with it removed and coil disconnected it should clear this out (if needed), and the light should go away in an ideal situation....
i was considering taking the cheapest route and maybe trying to add some Lucas to the mix first.
any advice appreciated. thanks in advance!

my advise would be to add a snorkel next time you wanna drive underwater... No seriously though I hope you get it figured out and nothing much wrong with it....sometimes crap happens..just learn from it and next time you get stuck..don't stand on it...

Check fluid colors/contaminants, hose fittings, ccv system for leaks, radiator fluid, take out spark plugs and look in the cylinders, take oil fill cap off check for dirt/other accumulation, check spark plugs for discoloration/rust/oil... There's many things that need to be inspected now...
Good luck...

changed the plugs and the old ones were tan in color
oil fill cap was slightly grey n milky
hose fittings are good
took off the valve cover and everything seems to be good, a few small pieces of gunk that were soft, very small. i cranked it over too to make sure the head was recieving sufficient oil, which it is, the under side of my hood is witness to that....
i removed the press sensor and cranked it over to push out whatever was inside, which seemed to be only oil.
headed out to put the valve cover back on and let it run to see if theres any difference.

drained the oil for the 2nd time, grey still.
drained the coolant...MUD BROWN....
there was metal shavings in the oil so ive decided to take off the oil pan and source this out....
the motor sounds to me like grinding.... issue with a rod bearing??
the oil pan is unbolted but not completely removed. working the next 4 days. if anyone has advice for a next step id appreciate it...
also, i removed the valve cover and im assuming that a rocker arm being loose, (can wiggle but the bolts are tight) is normal?
the motor just hit 97,000mi so im not giving up on it yet!!!!!!!
thanks, jim
