Hi everyone,

This might be a silly question, but I inherited my '99 Jeep Cherokee from my Dad, and I'm trying to install new speakers. How do I know if I have an infinity system? Is there anyway to tell? I've searched throughout the car and all of the information my Dad has on the Jeep, and there's no mention of the audio system.

I'm new and I apologize if I posted in the wrong section. Let me know if I need to move this to another place.

your cd player is it stock or aftermarket like sony pioneer etc.

 

if you have the infinity system u will have a small amp under ther rear bench seat wen u flip it up

what are you plans for you jeep?lift big tires?

 

If you have the Infinity system I believe the speaker grills with have that logo on them.

Infinity also used to have a joystick for speaker balance/fade on the dash somewhere. I'm not sure if they still did that when yours was made.

 

yeah my 2000 has that "joystick" allthough its far from a joy you can never get it to be exactly balanced and if you do someone accidently bumps it lol

 

just replaced all my factory speakers, he and added a sub and amp just for sound quality. so glad I didn't have the factory infinity system in mine, by passing that amp would suck

 

Ha! No, once my friends convinced me to take my jeep off roading in the mud... my Dad was so upset, it took me forever to clean inside and out, lol. Right now I'm doing speakers, and then fixing the air conditioning.
