Hey all,
Been having a problem now that sounds fuel related, but not sure. The engine on occassion idles rough, the throttle can not be "gunned" and held or the engine stalls out, and on occassion, runs so rough I have to keep pumping the accelerator after a stop sign/light to get the vehicle moving again.
I have checked the cables to the throttle body, and cleaned the already clean looking throttle body intake. Also replaced the fuel filter (not the pump yet as it appears I will have to drop the tank cause I cant get up in there to reach anything) and there was something stuck in the filter (not sure what but it was something large enough it wasnt falling out!) but as stated, I have replaced that and still have the same problems. My only thoughts are the fuel pump, but wanted any other opinions before I go dropping the tank and such.
Any help is much appreciated!

I had some of the same issues with my '98 . Thought it was the fuel pump, it ended up being the up stream O2 sensor. The check engine light never came on nor did it show up on a pocket scanner. Good Luck

check your TPS and IAC sensors. they are both located on your throttle body

Been awhile I know, but wanted to post up the solution incase someone else should stumble upon this thread. I was on a vacation, hence the delay. Anyway, turns out the issue was the fuel pump. Since I replaced it, dont seem to have any more issues! Took me about 7 hours too as the lock rings wouldnt budge for anything and I was stubborn and refused to drop the tank. Haha
