Default Help! Doors won't come off :P

Yesterday I was trying to take the doors off of my Jeep and one of the bolts in the door won't loosen. It's one of the star-shaped screws, and when I tried un-screwing it, I ended up stripping it so now it really won't move. Any ideas?? I spent almost an hour trying to un-screw it and I've had no luck. Help!

Got a grinder? Grind the head of the stripped bolt off.

Yeah, don't have one of those. I'm so determined to take these doors off, though. Any easier ways of doing it??

Cut the head of the bolt off any way you can. That's how I did it just two days ago.

If you have a Harbor Freight near you an angle grinder can be had for less than 25$.

Think there's any other tools I could use besides a grinder? Idk if it would work only because I can't get a grip on it. Not even with pliers. It's so stripped around the sides and in the star it's garbage.

Maybe a drill. But you don't wanna damage the hinge.

A grinder with a cutoff wheel is your best bet. It'll take less than a minute to do.

Yeah.. I even tried getting my hand into the door panel and trying to unscrew it from behind... ( my last resort) and that did absolutely nothing.. I'm doomed.

Your really not. Its very easy.

You need a grinder anyway, unless you wanna go through this everytime.

I'm gonna try and mess with it later and see what I can do. I'm determined to get these stupid doors off! If not, I'll probably be on here later again whining and pleading for help LOL

What exactly are your goals here?

Are you just popping the door if its hinge, then you plan on bolting it back on when you want them on again?

Or are you actually doing the modification to the hinge to make it easy to pull them off whenever you want?

I temporarily want them off, not trying to actually modify the hinge. Right now just trying to take the doors off and the last bottom screw won't budge for me.

Your option is GET A GRINDER or keep your doors on.
