Help..with axle swap
The jeep
95 XJ
4 door
auto
4x4
around 5-6 inches of lift in the back
D35 rear, now C8.25(the problem)
The problem..

I swapped from a d35 to a C8.25 from a 98, but still using the stock driveshaft that was on the d35. So now when i hook everything up the driveshaft wont spin because of contact at the top joints of the yoke. What can i do to get everything to line up nice and spin freely...do i need shims under the leafs? different driveshaft?

from what i have read, the c8.25 drive shafts are about 1" shorter than the d35 driveshafts. So, i would imagine the yoke on the c8.25 is longer. if you get the driveshaft from the c8.25, it may help, but it is only speculation. i have been meaning to swap my c8.25 to a d44 i have sitting in my garage, which is supposed to be a direct swap, since i got an XJ d44. i dunno how much that helps you out, sorry for limited knowledge, heh.

Yes a SYE with a new cv shaft will def. solve the problem. I'm at 5-6"s now and I just did this swap but I have SYE and run a 93-95.5 V8 grand cherokee front driveshaft (a little longer than xj). Works great.
