Hi everyone I'm new to this forum. I have a cherokee 2.5 td sport and I need the torque settings and sequence for the head bolts, it is one complete head and there are 18 bolts can anyone help please. Also do you have to remove bolts in reverse sequence. can't wait to get going again.
tried googling but have found nothing

Hi me again just realised there are 10 m14 spline bolts and 8 m12 spline bolts and i thought it would be a complete head because the head gasket was one but i have 4 heads so i am assuming sequence does not matter but still need torque settings hope someone can help me many thanks geoff

I don't think I have specs for your engine - The VM Motori 2.5 litre turbocharged Diesel was "overseas market only" for the XJ. The only Diesel we saw in that frame was the Renault 126ci turbocharged Diesel, 1985-1987.
I'm sure you could find the specs for the VM Motori 2.5 litre Diesel as used in another vehicle, no? Even if the vehicle the engine was used in changed, the engine itself did not (as an example, the manuals for the IHC Scout using the AMC 232ci I6 showed the same specifications as the AMC 232ci used in both Jeep vehicles and AMC passenger cars. Likewise the AMC401 in AMC Pax and Jeep, and in the IHC Light Line pickups - where it was called the 400ci V8.)
It sometimes takes a bit of creativity to find the specifications you need, and a bit of information from somewhere.
As I recall, VM Motori is an Italian company, which should aid you in your search. Good luck!
