So lately i have noticed my starter sounding weaker but still starting my jeep ok, and today after school i got in my jeep and it started ok, drove home, parked it, and i went out to go to start it about 20 minutes later, and it won't start. When i turn the key to the start position the fuel pump comes on but the starter won't do anything! My battery is fully charged... whats going on?

 

my starter went out the very same way. worked the first time and then five minutes later it was toast. check it first before you go tearing into it. jump it at the connections on the solenoid to make sure thats the problem.

 

check your selenoid and starter. use a screw driver to test both by connecting the big to small on the left and the big to small on the right. If it sparks its good.

Or it could be the ignition switch, which is wat is praly wrong with mine. My key turns but the pump jus hums too.

i'm not tryin to step on any toes but by jumping the solenoid you are bypassing the ignition altogether, and if the starter is good it will engage. whether the key is on or not. you want to connect the post that your battery cable is hooked to and the little one with the wire attached. (the little wire is your start wire from the key/start relay)
