how about a little more info on whats going on. Seriously we have no idea why you are replacing these parts. And no, they will not cause your RMS to go out... by going out I assume you mean leak.

PCV valve could indeed cause oil to leak, but I'm not sure if it'd appear similar to a rear main.

the only thing I could think of is if the pvc valve stuck closed and the oil way overfull this will sometimes cause a fail on the RMS. it happened to me once and thats what my mechanic said he thought happened, usually I fix stuff myself but at that time I just didn't have the time.what happened is the wife was checking the oil and called me and ask how much oil the jeep takes so I told her six quarts, but she was only half a qaurt low but wife dumped in 6 quarts, not good, I was busy at work and never even thought to myself"why is my wife doing an oil change?"

Sometimes when you see oil leaking "from the rear main seal" it's not really coming from there at all. That just happens to be the lowest point so that is were it finally drips out of after it works it's way down thru whatever grooves and joints it runs down thru. Try looking elsewhere first. My "rear main seal" leak turned out to actually be the oil filter adapter gasket.

X2 - thought i had issues but the issue was the oil filter tap where it connects to the block. That could cause the oil to seem leaking from the RMS.
