My 17 yr old son had a fender bender in my 1988 jeep cherokee. Smashed the grill, radiator, pretty much everything on the front end. My question is, what is the crossover piece called that welds to the frame ends? Its bent too bad to straighten, but the frame is okay. Its the piece that the bumper brackets bolt to.

I believe you are talking about the front core support.
You can probably get one from the scrap yard if u got a drill and a spot weld bit.
