Ahhh rebuilt salvage title, hmmm those are risky no wonder it was cheap. Could be a Hurrican Katrina Jeep or one that was totaled that the owner bought back and repaired himself. CarFax is your friend here it will tell you alot.
As far as Shocks well you can pull them if you want but if the ride is pretty smooth then the shocks are prolly ok. HTH
