Didi I see that right? It looks like there is no backing plate or brake shoes on the left rear.

those u bolts look like there just about new!!! ya if you still have around 300$ you can make your own lift kit from the junkyard. you can do a 4 inch lift or so with 2 rear leafs from a s10 or darango or something like that, and than you can get a 2 inch lift by useing front coils out of a grand cherokee and than another 2 inch spacer to make a 4 inch lift. but it looks like you have stock lower control arms so you probly only have a cheap 3 inch lift. and if you do a 4 inch lift you need bent lower control arms, and a transfercase drop or slip yoke eliminator

Exclamation Caution about stainless bolts.

Ziggy had suggested stainless steel bolts. Do not use stainless on any suspension component not designed for them. Stainless fasteners are most always considered Grade 3 and cannot take the stress of a Grade 5 or 8. To make removal easier in the future, use a thin coat of never seize.

some one said you need an sye bad. i recomend one but you dont need it BAD. it looks bad because it is missing the dust boot that is supposed to be there.

try a tcase drop. cost ya about $5 to make one
http://www.go.jeep-xj.info/HowtoTCdrop.htm

some one also said u-bolts stretch over time. they strech as soon as you tighten them down. you should never reuse u bolts. (i do)

x2 DO NOY USE STAINLESS BOLTS for any suspention component

and get ride of the block and do a bastard pack. blocks are dangerous with a leaf spring that is soft as a cherokees (provides to much leverage and can actually snap leaf in half

well carfleet i was not aware of that thank you for correcting me. i personaly would have thought stainless to be better but oviously it is weaker since it isnt hardened.

that link he posted tells you step by step! you can just get a 1"x1" square tube from home depot to use & follow those steps!

Also thanks for correcting me on that SYE I guess I've just never seen it that far out without a boot...
