ya you can take out the lift kit and switch it, thats what i am doing with my jeep. you just will want to buy new bolts unless you wana use rusty ones. and than i would recomend buying 4 new shocks instead of reusing them. but that is up to you.

doesnt mater, any bolts will work. grade 8 bolts would be best but will cost probly more than double normal grade 5 bolts. or mayby even stainless if you want to ever take them out again but those will cost even more... if it was me i would just go with the cheapest standard grade 5 bolts
and make sure you take all the lift off when you go to switch it, including transfer case drop, mayby slip yoke eliminator, mayby adjustable or longer track bar, mayby longer brake lines, and your lower control arms.

dude you'll be fine to just swap it strait over, but like they said if ur gonna do the swap replace both sets of u bolt on urs & ur dads!!! cause they stretch & get weak over time the last thing u want is either xj's rear axle coming off on the free way...

U bolts are going to depend on what rear axle each Jeep has. IIRC the Dana 35 and C8.25 have diff diameter axle tubes.

if you are gonna do any wheeling i would suggest that you get rid of the blocks and do it right the first time.. you will save yourself some headaches later

i would deff get rid of thoes blocks an get either full 4.5 leaf kit for 249.00 from rustys or there is a sight called ironman4x4fab.com an get the fully adj rear shackels up to 3.5in lift for 129.50.... but i would go with the leaf kit the ride will be so much smoother
