Default Hello and i got a couple questions

First off i would like to say hello to everyone. I'm new to the forum, i was over at jeepforum.com. got a couple questions on my cherokee. First off it's an 87 laredo 4.0 5 speed. i replaced my slave cylinder last week end, and have a couple remaining issues from it. 1st one is the starter now makes a hell of squel when you crank it. the second is my speedo isn't working. does anyone know where i could find a exploded view of the speedo gear drive, so i can make sure it's back together right. does anyone know a good way to make sure the tranny is lined up perfectly, i beleive that may be the cause of the starter squeling. there were no shims when i pulled it out, so i didnt use any putting it back in. Thanx in advance

explain the starter squeel? does it just happen when you crank it or does it occur as your car is warming up (almost like a serp belt issue)?

The starter could have a bad bearing. New or not! The speedo has a electrical socket on the driverside of the transmission, Check there. Clean, dielectric grease and re-connect firmly.

If that doesn't fix it check behind the instrument panel. There could be a bad connection. I had a couple pins that had come loose on my connectors behind the instrument panel. It's easy to access.
