Anyone ever put Hella 450s or 550s (or any rectangular lights for that matter) inside a stock front bumper on a 97+? As in, cut holes and "recessed" them into the OEM bumper. Not behind the plastic valance, but inside the bumper itself. I think they'd fit and should look fairly clean. I've seen folks do the JK round fog lights, but was thinking about a larger rectangular light. Just wondered if anyone had experience or pics. Thanks.

I thought about doing something like this to my 96 bumper. i didnt do it and just mounted some on top of the bumper tonight.

In the chase scene from "The Goonies", the XJ that appears in it has two KC daylighters cut into the front bumper so I don't see why you can't do it. My only concern is where would you be able to mount the lights to?

 

i think the kc's on the goonies xj are in front of the bumper not recessed...

 

i saw a photo on NAXJA of a guy who cut in a set of the JK running lights in the stock bumper

 

ive seen some pics of lights mounted inside the rear bumper before, ill try to find them, its the same thing cause the front and rear bumpers are exactly the same

ya me either. i love that movie. i just looked it up on google images real quick. after i bout a xj i watched that movie and almost poo'd myself when it came flying around the corner. i was more excited than chunk was. hahahaha
