Hi.
I have a 1995 cherokee sport 4.0. When I purchasesd it the engine was bad. I bought a rebuilt motor from a local shop and installed it.

As I was installing the new engine, I also changed the following parts

Radiator and cap, Fan clutch, all Belts and hoses, thermostat and housing, water pump, TPS, Temp sensor, Temp sending unit, CPS, Distributor and interior guts, plugs and wires, fuel injectors, fuel filter, and probably more.

The issues: Idle is sometimes high and sometimes low (mostly high).

Jeep runs at 210 to 215 at cruising speeds. At a stop it will creep up to 240. I have verified the temp with infared thermometer.

Serious hesitation on accelleration(very intermittant).

I am so frustrated with this thing . If there are any self tought or professional mechanics out there that could help me solve these issues or spot me 5 gallons of gas and a match, I would greatly appreciate it.
