HEATER VALVE... do I REALLY need it?

removed mine, has a brass 3-way valve now, open it flows through the core all the time, closed it loops to the other heater hose and just returns back to the motor, works great and you can cook on the vents if you wanted lol

picture of 3 way and where i can get one. i cannot cook on my heater hahaha.

How ever i did put 4 way OEM valve back will see how that goes.

I'd like to see how the 3 way valve is hooked up as well. Just finished my open cooling system today and chose to bypass it as I heard it would not affect the AC but this thread claims differently.
