heater sucks
I have a 1988 cherokee chief, and i turn the heater on high, and it barly blows, and the air is warm but not very hot. I have sealed all the air leaks with, duct tape/weather stripping. lol any ideas on how to make it blow hotter, or faster?

Alright here's some quick troubleshooting
If the heat isn't really blowing
-Take apart the dash and re-seat all connections to the climate control module
-If this didn't fix anything it's a blower motor related issue.
-If this didn't fix anything it's a blower motor related issue.
Blower motor issues
-Turn the heat on full blast, locate the blower motor and it's connections. Unplug it and use multimeter to see if it is getting power. If it isnt refer to the next bullet point.
-Check the fuse for the blower motor, if it isnt blown the wiring has an issue and it should be rewired.
-If the fuse isn't blown and it's getting power, you need to replace the blower motor. They're fairly cheap from a pick n pull.

"The heater only blows cold air through" related issues
-Odds are your heater core is clogged. You need to flush your coolant and clean out the heater core in order to fix this. Since it's winter it's a good time to make sure you're running good coolant anyway!
Good luck man!

If you have an air compressor, blow out the heater core repeatedly.
Search YouTube on the process. It worked GREAT for my 99 Cherokee.
Note the "in" heater core hose becomes the "out", and the "out" heater core hose becomes the "in" for the air from the compressor. Hold on to the jug your blowing into! It could make a real mess. You will be amazed at the results.
If you can't find the videos, let me know.
If your blower 'works', and your vents don't provide hot air, then the heater core is most likely clogged. If that's the case, very little (if any) hot fluid can cycle through the heater core and the air blowing thru/over the heater core to heat your interior will remain warm/cold.
The heater core is a mini radiator. The heater uses the heat from the heater core to heat the air that passes over/thru it.

1991 jeep cherokee laredo. Anyone know why my blower motor doesn't work. Blower motor works straight off the battery. New switch. Resister is new. Just not any air coming out. Hot or cold. Oh and removed dash to find no relay back there.
