Default Heater Question

So here is my issue my heater works but the blower doesnt push the heat out and the selector 1 - 4 doesnt do anything, this happened last winter as well but i didnt have time to look into it and then when the weather turned warmer the blower kicked in again and works just fine. But with winter and colder temps here the blower is up to its old tricks and no working. What do i need to check to find out which part is cause the issue.

It could be a few things, most likely a melted connection to the blower motor. But that wouldn't explain the intermittent working.

It could be the resistor for the blower motor, but if that was the cause then you'd still have high fan.

so if my fan only works on high i need a new resistor for blower motor?.. are there any other possibilities like a bad fan switch, or something?

Absolutely. There is almost always other possibilities.

However, knowing what I know about blower motors, I'm strongly leaning toward a bad resistor.

On high fan speed, you bypass the resistor completely. The resistor bleeds off the necessary juice to the motor allowing it to spin at different speeds. So when that takes a crap, you don't get any "lower" fan speeds.

Since its working on "high" fan, and that bypasses the resistor, I'd say its screaming resistor.

It could also be the wiring to the blower motor, its common on Cherokees. But that wouldn't explain why you've got "high" and none others.

Like I said, there are always other possibilities.
