Default Heater hose / radiator question

Which hose in the engine bay is the last place BEFORE the coolant goes to the head? Is it one of the two hoses headed to/from the heater core? If so, is it the top or bottom? The top hose goes to the left side of the upper radiator hose, the bottom hose goes to the right side. I'm away from my jeep right now and this random question came up in a conversation. Weird question, but I can't picture which way the coolant flows!

The last hose(s) before the head are the lower radiator hose and the heater hose that is connected to the water pump inlet tube. Both of those hoses are inlets/inputs to the water pump, and the water jacket is on the outlet side. The water pump pulls water from both of these hoses and pumps it through the water jacket, which then exits through the thermostat into the upper radiator hose and the other heater hose at the thermostat housing.
