i have an 89 xj. recently the ac lines were all rusted and it looked nasty so i took them off so the compressor is still on but no lines connected. i dnt use the heater or ac.

can i just run hoses from the thermostat housing to the tank. one on the bottom and one on the side?? and eliminate the heater core lines??

im asking because between the hoses it has a little black box dat conects both together like a valve or sumn??? so can i eliminate all that and just run the hoses strate from the thermostat bellhousing to the water tank??

In simple terms, yes you can.

Quick and easy way is to just cut the lines and them connect them so it runs in a loop.
