is it normal for the heater core to leak after several years?
the core has been leaking since i got it.
i think sucking on the coolant for 6 months has killed my immune system, I never get sick and i have been sick non stop since i got this jeep.
all fixed now though

 

Yep, most any heater core will leak after several years of cooling system neglect........most won't leak with proper maintenance.

thats what i was hoping. when I got the jeep, there was a crack in the radiator for IDK how long. the coolent was all rusty so I replaced all the hoses radiator and flushed the system. I smelt the coolent in the jeep when I started her up from the first day but neglected to replace it because is seemed to hold fluid. the AC .. condenser? (core next to the heater core) also had a crack but I decided it wasn't worth the money so I left it out and sealed up the box.

 

That's the a/c evaporator, the condenser is outside in front of the radiator.
