heater / air conditioner controls stuck

I have a 1990 Cherokee with air conditioning. The vents are stuck with it on defrost. No matter what position I put the settings on it still blows up thru the defroster.

you have a vacuum line loose or broken

I know this post is kind of old but....where do these vacuum lines run and any idea which one is broken?

There are two vacuum lines that come out of your firewall right under your coolant bottle on the passenger side
