Found a set of power mirrors off a newer xj on ebay for a steal but they are power and heated. I know the plug is different but would I be able to splice the wires together to get them to work? And would the wires be the same color for the power functions on my 96' country as the newer power mirrors? Thanks guys

Not sure, I would like to try this on my 01 XJ limited. I was hoping to just plug n play. Don't want to buy em if it won't work Anyone?

 

I did this on my 97 and it was completely plug and play. The wires for the heated part are already in the plug on the door harness. Just unplug and remove the non heated mirrors, the bolt on the heated mirrors and plug in. They activate with the rear defroster switch, so there's nothing else to add besides the mirrors.

 

They should since the harnesses are all standardize in most vehicle's, they just have differant acc.put on when built.
