Default headliner sucks

I have a 94 cherokee with a tan headliner that has went to **** in the front corners. Where can I get a new one? The junk yard ones are worse.

Have a JoAnn's Fabrics local?

Not to sound critical but there is usually at least two threads in the first few pages that involve headliner subjects. The search feature here would yield a ton of info where we bought the material down to a very detailed write up of how to recover it.

you can go onto ebay, they have the material there. then buy 2 cans of 3m spray glue. cost me 30 bucks altogether and did it myself, took about an hour or so

If you decide to do it yourself & you're looking for fabric, I'd suggest not buying it online. I have discovered that the quality of headliner material varies greatly & if you care about how it holds up, you want to use sturdy material. Buying online you can't really tell how thick it is. You don't tell your location, but I've compared the headliner fabric at our local Joanne's Fabric vs the auto parts store & it's a nite-n-day comparison. Fabric store is way better, thicker.

I'll be tackling mine in the Spring because I've been wearing my headliner like a hat for a few months now.

do I pull the backing out of the car, recover it and re-install it or recover it while inside? If I need to pull it what holds it in? The dome light and sun visors plus side moldings?

I posted the same questions in another thread click here: check out the answers I got. I'm already assembling supplies. You want to do a little more searching & be careful which adhesive you use as I hear they are not all created equal.

what about the 97 and up headliners. i've been told they are better quality and not as prone to sagging.
also 98 and up has built in sound bar.

prolly what i'ma gonna do. i just tore off all my fabric. i couldn't see out the back window. haha.

Much easier if you remove the backing and recover it while it's out of the cherokee. Use thick felt, as that will mask any imperfections in the backing.
