Engine: A secret

Headlights/running lights don't work

as title says

i put a new engine in and right now this is my only issue

all blinkers/highbeams/taillights work and interrior lights.

brand spankin new dimmer switch

I would say check your headlight switch wiring at the plug. I have seen those melted where it effected the light like you described. Also if no fuses and or relays are found to be bad, I would replace your head light switch again. I Have purchased more than one of those switches and received a bad one once or twice. Good Luck!!
