Default Headlights.. Confused:/

So I was driving on a lighted road and people kept high beaming me. It was confusing the hell outa me because I had my headlights on. So I pulled over to investigate this. Turns out my headlights don't work but my high beams still work. What's causing this? Thanks in advance guys!

Nevermind I just realized their separate bulbs. But I still have the question on why both headlights went out at the same exact time? And the passenger side was newer than the other too.

not sure if this is the case or not, but maybe a short? but then again i don;t know why that would explain the high beams still working, hmmm

You sure they did? Or has one been out for a while and gone unnoticed?

I would replace both bulbs and see if they work normally.

If they don't, it's a wiring or switch problem.
