Default Headlight problems

I recently installed one of these harnesses on my 99 Cherokee http://www.eautoworks.com/Putco-H4--...s-PRD7540.aspx. The stock system worked okay it was just getting pretty dim. I installed the harness and it did the trick for a couple weeks then one night as I clicked from my high beams back to low beams the drivers side went dark. The high beams still worked but only the passengers side low beam was working. I figured it was just the headlight itself so I bought another one and put it in just in time for a trip up north. It worked fine for a little while but on the way back same thing happened. I'm not really good with wiring but from what I read that harness would be fine with the stock headlights then I could upgrade to H4 setup down the road but is the new harness just sending to much juice for the stockers to handle? I will buy better headlights if that's what it takes but I want to be sure that it would fix the problem before I put more expensive units on there and burn them up. As far as I know the grounds are good, I didn't see anywhere that would have a short, and the fuses are good.

I'd be suspicious of the connector that plugs into the back of the headlight. You fiddle with it changing the bulb and it works again...for a while..

I wiggled everything around and can't get it to work again. The connectors are a lot tighter then the stock ones were.

How well are the grounds grounded on the side that's giving you trouble? Did you scrape the contact area down to bare metal?

It's tight but it might not be contacting enough bare metal. I'll look at it. Thanks
