Headlight Plug/Wiring Harness Recommendation?
Hey guys, I've been referring to this site in the past for issues with my XJ and now I've finally joined. Glad to be here. Here's my first question:
I had my left headlight go out and figured it just needed to be replaced. Bought a new one, installed it, and it worked for a few days. It stopped working but the blinker and the light beneath it still works.
I figured there was something wrong with the headlight plug and/or wiring harness. Is that correct?
Found this replacement plug.
Would this fix my problem?
Thanks.

The stock headlight wiring in the XJ is not very good. You might want to install a relay-type harness like this one:

Excelente. I was looking at a Putco harness but there were a lot of bad reviews on it. I'll give this one a try.

My first one last about a year and a half then crapped out with corroded relays.
My second one is going fine after two years with the relays better protected.

I tried the above site for the eBay selected harness, put in my vehicle and said it does not fit my vehicle. Is this correct? I'm also going to be switching out my sealed beams so I can use Halogen bulbs and possibly my HID kit. Would any of you have a suggestion or part number for a harness that can handle this type of load?

The reason it's not listed as compatible is that it's a generic universal harness that can be used on nearly any vehicle with that type of connector. It would be impossible to list every vehicle it'll work on. It will fit the XJ. Any of the universal harnesses will fit the XJ.
