MY guess
Would be try by-passing your current light switch to a regular switch see if they perform normal....
If so the switch is your problem...
if not check all your headlight wires

I did have the same problem on one of my other cars not my jeep. But what it turned out to be was the headlight switch it self. When I would turn on the lights they would come on but after a little bit they would shut off. You may want to turn on your light and reach under the dash to see if the switch is getting hot.

Spent several hrs checking today. I finally found what I feel was issue. The connector plug that goes onto light switch had signs of switch getting really hot. Plastic had started to melt. I replaced with a new switch. Will go for a ride after dark. You fellas think thats where my problem was?
