Default Headlight harness

Is the stock headlight harness easily removable? The PO of my jeep cut the old harness up

It is not too bad but you might have to remove part of the front grill. If you are going to the trouble of redoing the headlight harness I would shop around and get a after market one that hooks the power directly to the battery. It will greatly increase the light output.

The aftermarket harnesses are made to supplement the stock harness. They won't help with repairing a hack job.

Larry, what year is your Heep?

it’s a 1993 jeep. I’m just going to get a replacement h4 socket and wire it in and add the upgraded harness

There are some Youtube videos, but seriously, it's cake. The upgrade harness plugs directly into the stock plug (literal plug and play) and the rest is obvious (red wire to the battery, black grounds). You do have to remove the front grill (the plastic part), but it's super easy.

Member jhc7399 sells a quality harness for a good price. I've got one from him in my 95 and it's an awesome and easy upgrade.

Unfortunately in your case, you do have to fix the original headlight wiring if it's bad. The upgrade harness only uses the passenger side plug, so if the driver's side is ok, I'd consider just extending the wiring from there since the upgrade only needs 1 working stock plug and either side should work.

That's not too bad. Is it just the headlight Sockets? I would just solder or crimp some new H4 Sockets in place if so.

Would be easier Than tearing the front end apart to replace the whole harness.
