So after the bone chilling work day i finally go the head off today, much to my surprise (jk) there was a cylinder filled to the top with anti freeze, so as soon as the sun comes up i will begin the cleaning of the cylinders, the head is soaking over night in some mystery crap my friend whipped up, its looking good, i will be installing all new gaskets and putting everything back together in the morning , i will let yall know how it goes .

if you have the head soaking in anytype o fcleaner you need to replace the valve seals or you will be kicking yourself in the *** when it smokes 8 packs a minute, also i suggest getting the head pessure checked, youve done alot of work getting the head off and the last thing you want is a problem withthe ehad once its allput back together

we soaked it in hot water and dawn, my fear of rusting proved to be wrong in the a.m. we just usded degreaser to get the rest of the s*** of the rockers, cleaning out the cylinders today, its snowing right now so we wont be doing much out there until it slows down, but im to poor to have my head pressure tested , so im going old school and checking it myself with a straight edge and eagle eyes for cracks, the gasket was pretty ugly near the cylinder with the misfire. so hopefully all checks out and will have her back together today...

I feel your pain with working in the snow. I worked for a week in a row trying to make my Jeep run, while standing in a foot of snow the whole time. Wasn't fun. Good luck. Hope you get your Jeep up and running again.

Why don't you call your local engine rebuild shop and ask them how much to check over the Head for you?
They would magnaflux it for cracks and check the valve spring rates, seals and so on.
Might be worth the piece of mind.
